Desire: the starting point of all achievement
Hill says the key to success is to define a goal and put all your energy, strength, and effort into achieving it. It may take years for you to be successful, but if you keep your will, you will eventually get what you want. You will not get anywhere just wanting money. However, to desire wealth through an obsessive goal, a careful planning, and not accepting failure as an option, you will become rich. To help you do that, Hill Think & Grow Rich presents six steps:
Decide how much money you want to earn in dollars.
Determine what you are willing to give to receive this amount.
Select a date by which you want to earn this amount.
Make a plan for how to achieve your goal and get started right away, whether you feel ready or not.
Write all the above in one clear statement.
Read this written statement aloud, twice a day - first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Imagine your life as if you already own this zodiac sign.
Faith: Imagination and belief in the realization of desire
Confidence is a state of mind that you must learn to develop. Through repeated affirmations and instructions, a state of trust is created in the subconscious thanks to the process of auto-suggestion. Any impulse of thought that is continuously repeated and entered into the subconscious mind eventually becomes a continuous loop of thought. However, it can also have negative consequences. In addition to positive thought patterns, we may also impose negative thoughts that can result in us believing that we are unworthy, doomed, or a failure. Therefore, Hill argues that it is our beliefs that determine the nature of our subconscious. By repeating affirmations, you can reprogram your mind to imagine and, thus, to feel and believe that your success is guaranteed. The mind assumes the nature of the influences that direct it. A positive mind is more fertile for faith, and faith is the starting point for all success. The biggest factor holding you back from success? Lack of self confidence. Hill suggests thinking this five-fold and repeating the rich affirmation exercise in writing and then learning from memory to boost your confidence:
Know that you are capable of achieving your goal, and that you must promise to be persistent in the effort.
The thoughts that dominate your mind will result in physical action and change your reality. Therefore, you should spend 30 minutes every day thinking about what kind of person you want to be.
For ten minutes every day, focus on increasing your sense of self-confidence.
Write a description of your goal, and don't stop reaching it until it is achieved.
Know that you may not get lasting success if you have achieved it through unethical means. Therefore, promise to engage in a transaction only if it benefits everyone involved. Negative attitude towards humanity will never bring you success.
Auto-suggestion: Means of influencing the subconscious mind
Self-suggestion is synonymous with self-suggestion. It is the bridge between the conscious and subconscious mind. Merely reading aloud will not have any effect. You have to connect the feelings with the words. As mentioned in the previous lesson, when reciting your affirmation, you should encourage your desire to consume. Your subconscious mind will act only on felt thoughts.
Specific knowledge: personal experience or observation
There are two types of knowledge: specific and general. Common sense is of little use when trying to accumulate wealth. Knowledge generates wealth only when organized and specifically directed towards a definite end. To be successful, you need specific knowledge in the field in which you want to make your fortune. If the amount of knowledge required exceeds your ability, Hill recommends creating a "master mind" group. This group should consist of individuals who have the knowledge you want and can manage to help you achieve your goal.
Imagination: Workshop of the Mind
Within your imagination is where all the plans are made and made. The only limit before you depends on how much you develop your imagination. According to Hill, there are two types of imagination: artificial and creative. Through synthetic imagery, you reform existing concepts, ideas, and plans into new forms. Nothing in this form of imagination is created because it works with existing mental material. Creative imagination is what comes out of hump and inspiration. New ideas are created within it. This type of imagination can be reached only when your conscious mind is being stimulated by desire. This is a muscle that must be trained. Ideas are the starting point for all luck, and they are the product of imagination. It can be helpful to look at some of the most successful companies of all time, like Coca-Cola, and remind yourself that it once started as a single idea. In fact, a wise salesperson will know that ideas can be traded where tangible goods cannot. Almost all significant fortunes begin when a person with a great idea meets a person selling ideas. When reconciled with desire, thoughts are an unstoppable force. They are more powerful than the mind that created them. Thus, you must develop the desire to hear them, develop and watch them.
Organized planning: the crystallization of desire into action
To achieve your destiny, you will need to collaborate with others. No one person can make it completely on their own. If your plans fail, go back to the drawing board and keep trying until a plan works out. Thomas Edison made 10,000 unsuccessful plans before perfecting the incandescent light bulb. The key to his success was that he never gave up and kept making new plans when the previous ones failed. Planning wisely is the key to securing your destiny.
Verdict: Mastery of Procrastination
After analyzing data from interviews with more than 25,000 men and women, Hill came to the conclusion that a lack of judgment, e.g., procrastination, was one of the leading causes of failure. The most successful people make decisions quickly and surely. People who struggle to make decisions are often easily persuaded by the opinions of others. However, Hill says that being easily persuaded means you lack desire and, therefore, you won't be able to reach your goals. Learn to trust yourself, and if you need information, only get it from reliable sources. Decision makers quickly know what they want and how to get it. The world bows to those whose actions and words indicate they know where they are going. It takes courage to make a decision. It is only the courageous who go ahead to attain great fortune.
Perseverance: The Continuing Effort Necessary to Inspire Confidence
Perseverance is built on the strength of will. When desire is combined with willpower, nothing can stop you from reaching your goals. Most people give up, things get very challenging. Persistence in adversity is the only way to move forward. If you find yourself struggling with a lack of perseverance, with some concerted effort, you can overcome this obstacle. How easily you will be able to persist depends entirely on how intense your desire is to reach your goals. Here, Hill suggests reminding you of your daily confirmations. Furthermore, if you have carefully assembled your master mind group, they can prove beneficial in encouraging you to stay on track.
Power of the Master Mind: The Driving Force
You must have power to accumulate wealth. Without power, you cannot execute your plans. There are three ways of accumulating power in hill states, and they are:1) Infinite Wisdom2) accumulated experience3) Experimentation and ResearchKnowledge is organized into definite plans and converted into power. However, knowledge cannot be obtained alone. If your plans are perfect, they will require the knowledge of others. You can generate power by using the knowledge of the members of your Master Mind group. Co-operative alliances are the basis of almost every great fortune ever made. The collection of the mind produces a result far greater than the sum of their parts.
The Secret of Sex Transmutation: The Tenth Step Toward Wealth
The word "transmute" means to change one element or form of energy into another. Hill argues that sex is our most fundamental and powerful drive. This desire is so strong that one often puts his life and reputation at stake to indulge in it. However, Hill argues that, when this sexual energy is redirected into other activities, it can have a far more powerful effect. Although it requires a significant amount of willpower, he says the effort is well worth it. Still, Hill is quick to point out that he is not advocating that the sexual drive should be suppressed, it should only be given alternative outlets that can enrich the mind, body, and spirit. A transmuted sexual drive results in extraordinary creative potential. The creative imagination, Hill States, is the sixth sense of mankind. Creativity originates within us, but it is not guided by us. All great artists become great because they are adept at listening to the "still small voice" that speaks from within. The same can be said of all successful people, artists and CEOs.
The Subconscious Mind: The Connecting Link
While you can't control your subconscious mind, you can suggest that it depends on the specific plans, desires, or goals you want to achieve. However, the subconscious can be guided voluntarily only through the process of habituation. As your subconscious works 24 hours a day, you must be mindful of the kinds of negative thought patterns and unproductive habits that you are feeding into it. You must work to move away from such negative influences and move toward developing more positive, desire-driven states of mind. The subconscious mind is more receptive to the thoughts that come with the feelings. Hill says it is only emotional thoughts that translate into action. Therefore, it is worthwhile to familiarize yourself with what is formed as a negative or positive emotion. Hill uses the metaphor that the feelings attached to a thought are like leavening in a loaf of bread; They encourage action, for example, they raise bread. Depending on whether the sentiment is positive or negative, the result will be either a remarkable or disastrous loaf.
The Brain: A Broadcasting and Receiving Station for Thought
Hill firmly believed that the brain was capable of receiving the thought vibrations of other minds. However, he went on to say that it is only thoughts that are "enhanced" to have an extremely high rate of vibration between the brains. Hill argues that if one engages in sex transmutation, their thoughts will vibrate with greater frequency. To optimally operate your psychic "broadcast" abilities, Hill suggests focusing on developing your subconscious and your creative imagination, thanks to the art of auto-suggestion.
Sixth Sense: Door to the Temple of Wisdom
Hill believed in an "infinite intelligence" that could be tapped when the subconscious was vibrating at a particularly high, positive frequency. However, he also states that it is possible for infinite intelligence to communicate with a person without having already cultivated a suitable mental state. Hill refers to the creative imagination as the sixth sense. What people called "shines of inspiration" or "victims" Hill believed were messages of infinite intelligence. Hence the sixth sense is a combination of the mental and the spiritual. When you learn to listen to the messages of your sixth sense, you will know when to avoid dangers and when to take advantage of opportunities. It acts as a kind of guardian angel. Hill argues that if you have accepted the previous chapters of his book, you are now without a doubt ready to accept this notion of the sixth sense. The ability to hear this power gradually happens while other principles are being realized. Read More : MAN’S SEARCH FOR MEANING SUMMARY
